DIY- De-Icer Spray!
My husband and I are notorius for buying those expensive spray cans constantly, and now here is another way to "get r done" without breaking the bank.
First, get a spray bottle or wash out an old one.
1/3 of the bottle needs to be isopropyl alcohol 70% and then 2/3rds room temperature water. Use 1 tsp of liquid detergent and shake. Spray on your car windshield at night, and in the morning, it should be clear. When you are out and about shopping, spray a little on when the car is still warm. If it is a little frosty, just spray a little more. Alochol has a natural-antifreeze mechanism that also leaves your window streak free.
Id you have an issue with your car door freezing or anything else like a shovel, etc. that you want ice free, spray Pam or any cooking oil onto a paper towel and rub it on whatever you need it for. The cooking oil prevents freezing.
